Recent advances on the understanding of the Late Cretaceous to Eocene geological record of the Western Colombian Andes have been used to test different paleogeographic and tectonic scenarios of northwestern South America. This talk will try to present a review of this record and evaluate its continuation into the Caribbean region as a way to test the calendars and style of the Caribbean-South American plate tectonic interactions.
