Femi Esan is an Earth Scientist with Chevron North America currently working out of Midland, TX. He joined Chevron Nigeria Limited in June 1997. He has worked in numerous Chevron Nigeria fields both Onshore and Offshore Nigeria Delta as a development geologist. His responsibilities include mapping, characterization and modeling of the reservoirs. He is also involved in horizontal well planning, modeling and off-site real-time geo-steering and well-bore placement. He has special interest in high resolution clastic sequence stratigraphy, a field in which he has made a number of presentations both within and outside the Chevron organization. After almost 2 decades of working on clastics reservoirs, he recently accepted a position / opportunity to work on Carbonates. He is presently working as the Dollarhide Operations Earth Scientist. Prior to joining Chevron he worked as an Environmental Geologist. Femi Esan holds a Master of Science degree in Geology from Texas A&M University College Station; MSC in Applied Geophysics and BSC Geology both from Nigeria’s premier university – the University of Ibadan. Femi also holds an MBA. He is currently the Vice President AAPG African Region, prior to this he was AAPG Africa Region Student Affairs coordinator.
