The University of Western Cape Town celebrates adding the 46th addition to the AAPG Africa Region student chapter program with Visiting Geoscientist Lecturer Paul Britt.
The creation of an AAPG Africa Region Student Chapter at the University of Western Cape, UWC, South Africa, made it the 46th addition to the AAPG Africa Region student chapter count, following the successful engagement and support from 2014 IBA student participants and faculty advisor toward the chapter’s set-up.
Having 63 initial student membership numbers at its 2014 inauguration, the AAPG UWC student chapter has since been delivering on student programs and events.
Those benefits include the AAPG publications program, book gifts, VGP visits and IBA participation, plus the privilege of welcoming a VG lecture from AAPG President Paul Britt on 31 September 2016, at the geoscience department of the university in Cape Town, South Africa. AAPG appreciates the support of KB Trivedi, M. Opuwari and Dirk Frei for their contributions to the success of the VG lecture.
