To become an Active Member of AAPG, the applicant needs a degree in geological science and a minimum of three years' experience in the professional practice or teaching of geology. Additional education or professional activity can alter these requirements. Only Active Members may vote or hold office in the Association. Apply for Active Membership
Associate Members
Associate membership contains two categories:
those professionals with a degree in geology or an allied science who are engaged in the practice or teaching of geology;
other graduates of a college of acceptable academic standards whose employment is associated with geology. Apply for Associate Membership
Student Members
Those students majoring in geology or a related field at a college of acceptable academic standards are eligible to become student members. Apply for Student Membership
Reinstatement
Former members of any classification whose membership has lapsed for any reason except ethical considerations, may apply for reinstatement.
