AAPG has opted to start a graduated dues structure which will become effective July 1, 2008.
Associate Member
Qualifications
Any person not qualified for any other class of membership who is a graduate of a college of acceptable standards whose employment is associated with geology, may apply for election as an Associate. The Executive Committee may waive degree requirements, if in its judgment an applicant has adequate professional experience, and has attained professional standing.

In an effort to accommodate the monetary difficulties faced by some potential members AAPG dues are based upon the member's ability to pay. The Gross Personal Income (GPI) is the basis for the amount of dues collected. This is an honor-based system so no proof of GPI is required. Falsification of this information is a violation of AAPG Code of Ethics.

The digital Bulletin includes two CDs mailed annually. The first CD is sent mid-year and includes issues for the first six months. The second CD is sent at year-end and includes all twelve issues.
