Domestic Program
Abstracts and biographical data features the Distinguished Lecturers slated for this fiscal year. Itineraries will be posted as tours are completed.
For more information about tours contact Karen J. Dotts in the Education Department of AAPG headquarters.
When possible extra time is built into a lecturer's schedule for interaction. If you would like to request a lecturer be sure to do so through your university or organization.
Lecturers are sent to AAPG affiliated geological societies, geoscience departments, universities and colleges throughout North America. AAPG also sponsors an intersociety lecturer with the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
International Program
Periodically a letter is sent to the different International Regions announcing a lecturer's tour schedule. Interested societies may use the Request Form included with the letter to arrange for a visit.
AAPG affiliated geological societies, geoscience departments, universities and colleges throughout the regions are included in the speakers tour. Speakers are unpaid volunteers and devote about three to six weeks to their tour.
If you would like to request a lecturer, contact Karen J. Dotts .
Program Funding is provided by the AAPG Foundation.
To offset some of the travel expenses, host groups are responsible for sharing tour costs. Domestically fees are set in accordance with the size of the sponsoring organization.
Each sponsoring organization is responsible for local lodging, meals and local transportation while the lecturer is in their city. This is not to exceed two days unless other arrangements have been made. These hotel, meals and related travel expenses should be paid directly by the local group. Expenses not picked up by the participating group will be billed with an applicable fee.
